BACKGROUND

Headquartered in Lanham, Maryland, a Washington D.C. suburb, Direct Pharmacy Service, Inc. (DPSI) was founded in 1994. Our founders recognized an opportunity to provide a needed service in the burgeoning Pharmacy Benefit Management and Mail-Order Industries. Using their expertise and years of experience in Federal Government lobbying and the pharmaceutical field, they established relationships with Federal Government departments that had a need to provide Mail-Order Pharmacy services to their employees. These public entity relationships remain intact and have expanded to include private employers, labor unions, and insurance carriers along with managed care organizations.

While doing business as a Mail-Order Pharmacy, DPSI was the first company of its kind that met the requirements of a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) within the health care market place. Acquiring and establishing a Mail-Order Pharmacy Fulfillment Facility and servicing our clients with an experienced team of industry professionals made DPSI very successful in the Mail-Order industry.

However, DPSI has since transitioned to solely being a Pharmacy Benefit Management Company. We offer a wide range of services to our clients and provide them with the greatest flexibility in creating tailored, cost effective solutions.
